Whether you're a returning 2L/3L student or a 1L joining us for the first time, we are excited to welcome you (back) to the Law Library! Over the summer, we have been busy with several behind-the-scenes and up-front projects to improve the library collections, as well as preparing for legal research and other instruction. Although we enjoyed spending time with the bar prep students this summer, we look forward to seeing more people in the library now that the fall semester is starting!
One important change to the library space is our newly created Current Collection: all the most up-to-date and recently published or updated materials can be found in this area, from our new ABA titles through regularly updated treatises and annotated statutes. It is located where our Illinois Collection used to be: directly opposite the main entrance to the library on the lower shelves. The Illinois Collection items have been reshelved so newer or regularly updated items joined the Current Collection and the rest merged with our main (historical) collection in the South Wing. Feel free to browse the shelves, search the catalog, or ask at the Circulation Desk for assistance locating items.
