Researching Beyond Lexis and Westlaw

When you think about legal research, probably the first two sources you can think of are Lexis and Westlaw--and those resources are vital throughout your legal education and into your future career! But they're not the only platforms you can or should use when researching, studying, or becoming familiar with a new area of law. The Law Library provides access to many other sources and platforms that can be useful to you as a law student and beyond, but we know it can be intimidating to learn a new system, and you might not be sure which one might best meet your needs.

So please join Professor Timko from the Law Library to learn more about our subscription legal databases, particularly the ones you might not know about. This semester, he'll be providing information and answering your questions about our less-known resources, including CALI, Bloomberg Law, and PLI PLUS. Join him in Room 187 on specified Thursdays starting at 12:30 p.m. for these informative sessions: February 20th for CALI, April 3rd for Bloomberg Law, and April 24th for Study Aids and the Digital Libraries.

If you can't make it to a session or would like a more focused overview of these or any other Law Library-provided resources, schedule a research appointment! You can schedule a 15-minute chat with a law librarian at a time that works for you and can meet via Teams from wherever you are. Just add a note to let the librarian know what you want to talk about, so your time can be spent effectively.
