The library instruction program offers direct support to all classes at NIU by making available, upon request by faculty members in the academic department, bibliographic instruction sessions related to a particular course and assignment. These sessions are developed and taught by a subject specialist librarian who possesses subject expertise in the field and is familiar with the specialized reference materials and research methodologies of the discipline.
Library instruction is available in synchronous and asynchronous formats. To request a library instruction session, use the form below or contact your subject specialist directly to discuss options.
