English: Finding Book Reviews

Book Reviews

One can search for book reviews either from individual publications, like The New York Times or The New York Review of Books, or you can search databases and using facets, limit your search for reviews. The database approach will provide more reviews from more sources.

TIP: If you are looking for reviews of contemporary publications from a variety of publications, you should search in Academic Search Complete or ProQuest Digitized Newspapers, as these databases focus on relatively recent publications. However, if you are looking for reviews of older books in the period they were published from a variety of sources, example,The Sound and the Fury, you may want to use JSTOR, as it has historical reach.

For the most recent book reviews, you may need to look in current newspapers.
