Meta-analysis - Statistical analysis of results of quantitative studies
Qualitative systematic review/qualitative evidence synthesis - Compares the findings from qualitative studies
Rapid review - Uses systematic review methods to search and critically appraise existing research about a policy or practice issue
Scoping review - Aims to identify nature and extent of research evidence (potential size and scope) - see Mak and Thomas (2022)
Systematic review - Systematical search for, appraisal of and synthesis of research evidence
Systematized review - Includes elements of systematic review process; often conducted as postgraduate student assignment
Umbrella review - Compiles evidence from multiple reviews
