General Result Screening Process

  1. Merge search results from different sources using reference management software​

  2. Remove duplicate records​

  3. Test screening (or pilot screening) a random sample of citations to ensure consistency

  4. Screen titles and abstracts to remove obviously irrelevant reports (blind)

  5. Retrieve full text of remaining​

  6. Test screening (or pilot screening) a random sample of remaining results for inclusion

  7. Evaluate remaining results with inclusion and exclusion criteria (blind), include reasons for exclusion
