1905-1907 Breasted Expeditions to Egypt and the Sudan - One thousand fifty-five photographs taken in the opening years of the twentieth century by the expedition are reproduced here. Valuable for gauging the degree of change in this region, as some of these sites were drowned by the Aswan Dam and others, like Abu Simbel, lifted beyond the new shoreline.
