Help for Online/Off-Campus Students: Satellite Campuses

NIU Outreach Centers

NIU has two outreach centers in the Chicagoland area: Rockford and Naperville. These centers also function as library satellites or learning resource centers (LRCs).

In addition to many specialized databases, the LRC provides access to I-Share, FirstSearch, and the internet offering a wide variety of resources for students to complete class assignments and research projects. Rapid delivery (every Monday and Wednesday) from Founders Memorial Library in DeKalb to the regional centers ensures that materials are available to meet student needs. NIU students can pick-up and drop-off print materials requested from the DeKalb campus or through the I-SHARE system at these centers with their NIU OneCard (Off-campus/online students may also pick up OneCards at these locations). LRC staff members are available to assist patrons.
