FORGIVE AND FORGET--MAKING FINES DISAPPEAR
Our library materials have gone out, made new friends, and explored the world, but now they would like to come home.
We want to make that easier.
From Monday, April 15, 2019 through Friday, May 10, 2019, NIU Libraries is offering to forgive past due library materials and forget the fines you owe. Here is what you need to know about the Fine Amnesty Program:
-
This amnesty only applies to NIU materials—sorry, you are still responsible for any I-Share, ILLiad, or Law School Library fines
-
The lost or missing item(s) must be returned and must be in good condition in order to qualify for amnesty
-
You need to submit an appeal form to have your fees waived
-
Previously paid fees cannot be refunded
-
And, finally, fines for damaged books or overdue laptops are excluded from the amnesty.
