What are Reference Sources?

Reference sources are used to give an overview of a subject, or quickly locate facts, definitions, histories, dates, etc. Examples include dictionaries (which define a conept in a couple sentences), encyclopedias (which summarize a topic in a couple paragraphs or pages), handbooks (which give guidance, instructions or summaries of a topic), and biographies (which describe someone's life).
