Most books on display are available for checkout.  If you would like to check out a book from a display, please bring it to the Circulation Desk.

Mindfulness in Law Practice

This display is located to the left of the main entrance next to the Reference shelves.

These resources focus on assessing and improving the quality of life and the quality of practice for lawyers, and include topics such as:

  • Examining the psychological and ethical aspects of the practice of law
  • Ways to improve the attorney-client relationship
  • Methods for the daily achievement of mindfulness


Constitution Day

This display is located in the Illinois Collection near the west windows.

Sept. 17 is U.S. Constitution Day (observed Sept. 16 in 2017).  This display highlights Constitutional history and past and current issues involving the Constitution. There are also some pocket Constitutions free to take (first come first serve).

Stasen Collection Display

This display is located to the right of the main entrance, next to the New Books, Journals & Law Reviews shelves.

Edwin Blythe Stason Jr. was born February 17, 1925, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the eldest son of Edwin Blythe Stason, Dean of the University of Michigan Law School, and Adeline Mary Jane Boaz Stason. Blythe graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctorate from its School of Law.

He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theatre during World War II. He then pursued a career as a professor of law at William and Mary University, New York School of Law, Memphis State University School of Law, Louis University School of Law, and Northern Illinois University College of Law.

This collection is in honor of his research and personal interests.
