Interlibrary Loan: Information Delivery Services: Document Delivery / Campus Delivery / Microcards

This guide describes the interlibrary loan services of NIU's library.

Document Delivery

Document Delivery is a "scan and deliver" service provided for Faculty, Staff, Retired Faculty/Staff, Branch, and LRC students. If you need an article from a hard copy of a journal NIU Libraries owns, we can copy it and send it to you electronically. This service is free.

To use Document Delivery Services, you must register for an account in NIUILLiad and indicate your status (faculty, staff, etc.), and branch affiliation/site (Dekalb, Hoffman Estates, Rockford, Naperville, Faraday, Music, or "Other" for Online/Cohort students.)

Document Delivery services are provided within 4 business days from the time your request is received.

*Please note that all ILL notifications are sent to official NIU email accounts only.

Problems?  Questions?  Call Patrick Sanchez at (815) 753-3039, or email psanchez@niu.edu

Microcards

The Interlibrary Loan office has the only microcard reader / printer in the library. If you need a microcard print, please submit a Microcard request via NIUILLiad. This is the only type of material that the IDS office will make a copy of for all users, on- and off-campus, regardless of patron status.

Please call Patrick Sanchez at 815-753-3039 with any questions or email pksanchez@niu.edu
